Do those Thetford rebuild seal kits actually work or is buying a new slide valve the way to go ? I know most just replace toilet but as i am a F'NG have blown most of my budget on getting her road worthy. Also when doing either of the options replacing the toiletclost flange seal also should be done i would think. I was a Plumber in a previous life so i am used to crappy jobs but does anyone know what parts ie. slide valve, seal ,kit that i would order? I think i read here that the black tank slide valve is the same as the toilet slide valve ? Electra Magic 80 OG I believe. Thanks Tony

Yes the thetford slide valve under the aquamagic recirculating toilet is the same as the one on the black tank. I never bought a rebuilding kit to replace all the worn parts it would likely cost as much as a new valve. Don't those thetford valves cost $50 or more? If I were you I would buy a new non recycling toilet your wife will be a lot happier . My old Winnebago had a recirculating toilet as well as the GMC finally after 25 years my wife said I can't stand the stink any longer fix it. I bought a new china bowl toilet on line and no more stink + a happy wife. Do it you will be a happy camper.

We had never used our GMC. I told the CFO we were getting a new toilet. She sez "why". I explained how the electramajik worked. She sez "smart man".

Get a new toilet, I imagine the smell is pretty close to a porta potty on a warm day. Even the fresh blue stuff in those stink.

Bought a china bowl foot flush dometic 310 toilet from ppl motorhomes for $120 or so and it showed up at my door in two days free shipping. Feels like a house toilet and the bowl stays clean.
No regrets
