It used to be that Fantastic Vent couldn't do enough for their customers. Any problem would be quickly remedied either on the spot or a replacement quickly shipped at no charge. Sad to say that is no longer the case. At the recent FMCA Convention in Redmond, OR, I tried to get a part for my vent assembly. I was told to call the factory as they no longer bring replacement parts or offer any repair service. Upon calling the factory I was informed they no longer have the parts I need but I could buy an "upgrade" kit ($279.95 list price) that would let me retain the outside flange and cover but would lose the infinite speed control and existing wall mount I now have. Of course they won't sell the part direct so I'll have to find a dealer. GREAT service-I've bought my last Fantastic Vent for sure. Too bad, I guess the service they used to offer is almost a thing of the past.

Hal,

I called Fantastic Vent for some parts for my two vents w/ rain
sensors just a couple months ago and customer service couldn't be
more helpful. Shipped direct to the house.

Sorry.

Did they charge you for the parts? They used to give them free.

emory,

I only paid for shipping (as in the past). Vent lids (caps) had a 10 warranty.

Hal,

AFAIC The MAXX Fan is a superior product. You can leave it open as you run down the road and in a rainstorm.

Rob,

Fantastic Vent has come up with a cover similar to the MAXX Fan. They
did it when Fantastic Vent owners tried to use the MAXX Fan cover and
when the cover would not let the cap open all the way, it would burn out
the motor. I have new caps after one blew off going down the 1/4 mile
this spring. I also bought two covers which now allow me to leave the vents
open when going down the road or when the coach is in storage without rain or
bugs.

Max Fan is twice the unit of Fantastic.
I had to et 5 warranty units, so rplced them with Max Fan.
I have given the sales peple at shows hell for making a sudden change of no
extended warrenty.

Didn't we all know their fabulous customer support was going to collapse
when they sold out to Dometic?

Jim,

I bought two of those covers too and had them sent to Australia for The Blue Streak. When I got an email from AdventureRV that had
the top of the line remote control Maxx Fans on sale for cheap I bought two of them for The Blue Streak and two for Double trouble.
I sold one of the Fantastic Fans and will install the other in the bathroom.

Ken,

Fantastic Vent was bought out by Atwood Mobile, not Dometic.

I tell ya I must have installed a blue million Fantastics and they were the
best out with awesome support, how y\could you expect anything more. They
are still more than adequite.

But when you are on the top you are the best target, Fantastic was on top
of the heap longer than a normal marketing bell curve allows. Max vent was
on their heals and when they came up with the "MAX Tent" they hit their
product out of the park! As was said the #1 point now is it can stay
completely open in the driving rain. That is soooooo cool. Fantastic came
back with an exterior shroud fighting back but the truth is the MAX vent is
a super unit, looks awesome, works awesome and you can open it and forget
it.

New restoration now get a MAX vent, it's progress baby. If you have an
operating Fantastic fan stay with it, they really work nice, if you wanna
go new, get the Max vent. What we do here,

Jim Bounds
