I know I only live a couple of hours from Kennedy Space Center but I'm pretty out of touch with that side of the state, grew up in Tampa. Does anyone have recommendations or experiences with any RV campgrounds in the KSC area. Possibly any with shuttle buses available so I won't have to take the auto. Trying to plan a couple of days at KSC and get in a good adventure in the GMC also. Thanks in advance.

Skip,
Manatee Hammock County Park is a very good park for staying Near the KSC. We spent 4 winters there, Jan thru end of March and it is right on the water. It was 11 mile from the shuttle launch site and we say 7 launches while we were there, and it was impressive and loud even at that distance. It is located about 1 1/2 south of the causeway out to KSC. There are no shuttles to KSC, you want to take the auto because of the distances involved on the space center. There is a shuttle system on the space center that takes you to all the various sites. I also recommend the Canaveral National Seashore too. You can get fairly close to the launch pad LC-39B when you are out on the beach at CNS. DO NOT go out to KSC without a plan on what you want to see and do. You will want to spend at least 2 days. It was cheaper to buy the annual pass for $89 because of the discounts on food and gift shop and parking. Like Disney is can be fairly expensive to visit KSC. Because we bought the annual pass we were able to do all of the tours for only the annual pass price which is a considerable savings. We really enjoyed the “Then and Now Tour” first, but they were all good. We did one in the morning and one in the afternoon each day.
