With the new tinted windows, we wanted new curtains so we went to Lowes and purchased Levelor room darkening cordless cellular curtains. No visible strings, just push the button and lift up or pull down. Pretty slick setup. The old curved valences were not deep enough for these so I shaped some new ones out of aluminum with 2" depth and 1" flange.

The valences are aluminum and painted to match the curtains.

You can see the button in the center of the lower part. Just press it and pull down or lift up. No strings. Easy peazy.

The old micro mini blinds were nice but like Jim Bounds said, did not work that well with curved valences. The small windows did fine but the big windows had too much weight in the center of the curve and we had to futz with them to get them to lay right.

We're really pleased with how these curtains and valences look and they work great. I'm 100% confident they will be much quieter also. The mini-blinds rattled unless they were fully up.
