Camping World is running a sale on what looks like a pretty reasonably priced autoswitch:

Seems like that would work for switching between an inverter and shore/generator power as well (if your coach is wired like mine and uses the shore power cord for the generator output as well).

That is a good price for a 50A transfer switch. Those are much more
complex than a 30A system requires. I'm not sure, though, about using it
with a single phase inverter. The complexity of the 50A switch arises from
their control of both sides of the split phase system; the two sides are
interlocked by special relays. It may be a simple matter to fool the logic
for the inverter -- or it may not. At any rate, a simple 1-relay system
can be used in conjunction with that shore/generator transfer to also
provide control of an inverter. A minor variant of:

Ken, I agree that the complexity of the autoswitch is more than is absolutely necessary (though at that price, if it works, who cares?). Wink

The schematics you posted were the inspiration for the single-relay system I wired up to switch from my inverter to my generator/shore power...

In that case, the total cost was under $20 because I found a really cheap NOS surplus aircraft relay.

Mark,

That's neat! You certainly were lucky to find that relay; IF you found one
through the usual commercial sources, it would have cost many times that.
Even the DPDT 120 VDC relays were hard to find and expensive the last time
I looked.
