As all of us are, I am trying to reverse engineer what the PO did to the coach.

I am looking at the A/C system now trying to figure out what these blue hoses are for. Has anyone seen anything like this? If so, what is it doing?

Do you have an auxiliary ac unit under the dash?

Looks that way to me.

Jared

edit, after zooming in on the photo it looks more like lines going to another heater core.

Are the lines hot when the engine is running?

Yes I believe I do have an auxillary unit under the dash. How does that unit use these hoses?

Jared, I don't know if they are hot when the engine is running. That is something I will test. I did remove some loosely attached bubble-wrap type insulation that was placed around these hoses prior to photographing it.

There is a similar modification that recirculates air for the heat and AC rather than pull it in from the outside. I'll bet those hoses are moving return air to the Heater/AC box.

Looking at blow ups of the photo I don't think these are freon lines to an aux unit. Looks more like, as has been stated, some hoses for airflow improvement.

could be a Rube Goldberg suction and liquid line going to another evap coil covered in a plastic sleave ? The copper pipes aren't big enough to move any air. they could also be for moving hot water. Did you feel the larger pipe to see if it gets cold with the a/c turned on? Are they hot with the heat turned on?
