Thanks to all the help I have received over the last few years, we are just about ready to roll.
I washed the coach today in preparation for sealing every seam crack I can find. I wanted to get all the dirt, pine needles, etc out of the cracks so the crack filler has a better chance. We are going to try a combination of fillers to see how well they work. I have a tube of 3m Drip Chek and a tube of Capt. Tolley's crack filler (http://www.captaintolley.com/ ) I had not heard of Capt. Tolley but it came highly recommended from another GMCer. I will let everyone know what I think when I am done.
I still have a few things to finish, but I expect to be able to join the Tidewater Crabs at their meet in two weeks.
Left to do:
- Install new brake caliper
- shorten my accelerator cable. It appears to be too long and as such, does not allow the secondary carb valves to open. This came from a long time GMCer so who am I to question! By removing the slack in the cable, we were able to get the carb to respond correctly.
- The switch located above the accelerator pedal that signals the transmission to downshift is not closing correctly. I need to clean and fix it, or replace the switch.
What I would like to accomlish, but may not have the time.
- I purchased a PD9260 and hoped to replace the buzz box. Unfortunately, my converter box contains my 12v fuse panel and is a single unit. To install the PD9260 I will need to install a seperate 12v panel and reroute the wires. Does anyone have suggestions for a good 12v fuse box?
- I believe I have a solution to my water tank problem and would like to get it done. If my idea works, I will let you all know.
Pictures..just because I am happy to see it clean and raring to go!
