For the newbies:

The problem with doing your own work is punishing the idiot who screws up... Very Happy

This is one of those "attention to detail" items. There are two gaskets - one will not work.. in this case the wrong one lasted 5 minutes before busting loose.

Helps if you use the right water pump gasket:

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Rick Denny learned that same lesson on the water pump gasket a few years back. That sure is one pretty impeller.
