Sorry, I can't find this anywhere, I know I've read it somewhere, but is it the flat or domed 16" steelies that we need? Thanks.

Domed 16" steel wheels are needed on the front to clear the brakes. Flat or domed will work on the rear 4. An "ear" on the front calipers may have to be ground down for clearance.
I have 6 of the correct domed on the ground, but my spare is on a flat 16" wheel. Have a flat in the front will require a two wheel change. PITA. However, 1-800-come get-me service will do the change over.
Also, remember that the center hole dimension is 4.567" for the hub centering to work as designed. Anything bigger than that (Dodge or Ford), the lugs are doing all the work.

RD,

It is tougher than Joe let on.
Only the domed wheels clear the brakes. (Except the 80mm calipers need so adjustment.)
There are lots of domed wheels that have the wrong hub bore.

Here is the whole set of data.
Size 16x6
Circle - 8 - 6.5"
Bolt hole dia .670
Hub bore dia. 4.567 <= This is the hard part. most are 4.630 and will not center on our hubs/
Backspace 8.150
Offset 5.150
Wheel load pounds 2780
Max inflation 95
Fits Chevy 3500
359402 is the original GM part number
1062 is the Hollander interchange number <= This may be wrong
29587 is the steel wheel part number They were $66 at southwest wheel. <= Now they are 109$

They were used on a lot of GM trucks - Here are a few of them:
Pre 1976 may not be suitable for radial tires.
All C/P/G300 Dual 76'-00'
1 Ton P3500 Dual 76'-00
1 Ton P30 Dual 76'-00'
1 Ton K3500 4x4, Dual 76'-87'
1 Ton K30 4x4, Dual 76'-00'
1 Ton K3500 4x4, Dual 88'-00'
1 Ton G30 Dual 76'-00'
1 Ton C30 4x2, C3500 Dual 88'-00'

Matt - with 2 new 225-75*16 LREs on the front - only two years to go..... (An idea borrowed from Dan G.)

OK. I want to buy 6 16" Steel Wheels for my GMC. Where do I get them? Part #? Southwest Wheels website does not show them and calling the parts dept is even more frustrating. I feel Alcoa and Eagle wheels are overpriced for my purpose, and I really don't like the look. I'm happy with my simulators. Thanks for any help.

OK RD,

Look up the page at the list I posted and start calling wrecking years and truck soup-up places. You may have to drive a ways more than a few time to find out that the bozo on the other end of the phone has no idea what you are talking about. They have to be the bowl and not conical spider and the bore has to be 4-9/16. I had to buy 16~17 to get 13 good ones and then I got them reconditioned for about 35$ each and in the end I actually paid about 75$ for each good wheel.
