I am leaving Florida sunday at 6p with 9 units and carravaning them out to Nevada. Doing it over 4 nights.
S10 Clearwater, FL - Biloxi, MS 611m
M11 Biloxi, MS - San Antonio,TX 653m
T12 San Antonia, TX - Demming, NM 654m
W13 Demming, NM - Las Vegas, NV 622m
T14 Las Vegas, NV - Gerlach, NV 496m

We will be driving over nights from 6p to 6a. Nights be cause its cooler, less traffic and the ability to get in and out of gas stations with out a mob scene. And it leaves the day for any repairs or Napa runs.

So who is up for an adventure? Cause I need volunteers to drive units so the hippies have a place to sober up in the desert. Just imagine the beauty of the sun set and rise! Seriously, If your craving a bunch of CB conversation let me know. Call or text is the best as I haven't been on the forum and my hair is on fire till we get moving.

Thanx. David

Recommended refuel point, exit 142, I-10, at Marianne, Fl. Either the Pilot, North of Interstate, or TA, South of Interstate.
In Alabama, try to refuel either at Loxley Exit (Loves, North of I-10) or RaceTrak, South of Interstate.
Fuel will be the cheapest in Mississippi, no specific recommendations.
No construction hangups from Jacksonville, Fl thru Biloxi, MS. Drove this 2 weeks ago.
Tunnel at Mobile is a stiff turn on the West end. Tightest turn in the entire Interstate system. Watch for it.
Only heavy police presence was around Tallahasse, Fl.
Sorry, I cannot help, you are leaving one week too early.

If I lived in Florida and could afford the trip, I'd go. Bet one would learn a lot about GMC's on that trip.

David,

I would be interested on such an adventure, if only I had a week notice to put in for vacation and get ready.

I'm sure that you've got a schedule to keep.

Good luck. Keep us informed.

Check your calendar. If they make it in four days, you will be home by the 16th. A week before the 23rd.

It's not cojones it's time. For working stiffs it's hard to get off work within a few weeks that way, especially in summer when other plans have already been made. I'd have given it a shot if we didn't have a family vacation the following week. My wife and my boss would be unhappy with me...

I would have volunteered but without a few weeks notice I could not fit in. Also 600+ miles per day is a bit much for me. 450+ would have been more reasonable.

Good luck on your trip.

Me too. Maybe if there were enough volunteers to double up drivers so one
could sleep while the other drove, it would work. I don't do more than
about 300 miles per day normally -- and 'most all in daylight. I'd
probably go to sleep trying to drive at night -- long before my usual
midnight+ bedtime.

Sorry I can't help now, David.
