I was checking things out last night and have no house battery power. Plugged in all is fine. The batt meter shows nothing at all except when plugged into AC power. I checked the fuses under the rear dinette by the inverter, but they're all good, and appear to be only used for AC power off the inverter.
Is there another fuse or circuit breaker for batt power?
House batt is good, shows 14+ volts while the engine is running, but I get nothing back to the coach.
Thanks!
Jeff

If the house battery has 14 volts when plugged in or with the engine running but 0 otherwise it appears you have a bad battery or a problem with the battery cables.

Jeff,
Just to make sure which fuses you checked, my '74 Eleganza has several auto type tube fuses on the wall toward the kitchen. It also has a inline circuit breaker between the front and rear house battery; one of those little square jobs with two posts with nuts. I know the Royale is a different beast but I sort of have to stand on my head to see the little panel where they are attached.

Best Wishes,
George

If there is no power with the engine running is there 14 volts on the house battery terminal at the finned diode unit on the firewall ? Did you check for power on both sides of the 60 amp circuit breaker located near the rear battery?

Jeff Mine has a 50A breaker in the red no. 10 wire from the house battery to the house fuse block. Stuff running off the inverter is sort of a red herring. The inverter (like all other DC components in the house) should be getting DC power from the converter when plugged into shore power and the house battery the rest of the time.
You need to find the disconnect between the house battery and the house DC fuse block. There are so many differences among model years, and PO modifications, that you are substantially on your own. The house DC drawing for my 73 shows a no. 10 red wire from the battery to the house fuse block with a 50A breaker in line. So on mine, the only things that can keep power from getting from the battery to the fuse block would be disconnected battery, broken wire, corroded connections, or tripped breaker.

The no. 10 wire runs from the boost solenoid to the battery. The connection from the battery to the boost solenoid is a no. 4 red wire.

Thanks for the diagram!
Looks like I need to find that 60a circuit breaker, prob tripped.

I do not think that you got your questions answered on the isolator.
Use the aluminum plate that the isolator is mounted on as your negative (ground) connection on the voltmeter. Then probe the three terminals on the isolator with the positive lead. The center terminal is connected to the alternator and should only read voltage when the engine is running. The top and bottom terminals are connected to the engine side and the house side electrical systems. I forget which one is which. You should be able to hang the plus meter lead on the house side terminal and see the house battery voltage. Then turn on the converter and see the increase in voltage caused by the converter.
Have you cleaned the battery terminals thoroughly? I had a problem a year ago like yours where the battery terminals were wire brushed and looked clean. One of them was still not making a good contact. I had to go at the cables with a file to remove the contact surface of the battery cables and posts and reinstall them again. That fixed my problem.
