Thanks everyone for the postings on this thread. Since my last post I have
continued to have problems that seem heat related making me suspect vapor
lock in spite of the electric fuel pump I installed after the fuel tank
solenoid. I removed the inline fuel filter I put in next to the carburetor
which seems to have improved fuel flow a bit. I am considering re-routing
my fuel line around the mechanical fuel pump altogether to avoid the engine
heat created there.
Any thoughts about the wisdom of this idea or other possible vapor
lock road fixes?
