My GM friend and I have a hydraulic concept that we need to prototype. I don't think air ride on the front will be accurate enough to always bring the coach to the correct driving height to ensure the correct toe and camber when in the "home" position. Our approach is to make the adjustments at the pork chop end.
Accuracy isn't a problem, you can easily get a few thousandths of an inch resolution. Suspension Stiction and road noise are the hard parts.
But I do like the hydraulic motor on the pork chop end.
Just set it to a known position and leave it. No dynamic changes, ever.
Another idea is a worm drive that spins the socket on the frame end of the torsion bar. you just program in a known position and set it to that. It doesn't move with the suspension so theres no guessing.
I think the hard part would be the motor and mechanism to hold all that stress

Jay,
Scroll to the very last message in that thread and you'll find:

Jim,
This was discussed on the GMCnet when you installed it and IIRC it was noted that it was a one off and Manny would not be building

Bob,
Maybe you could try a horizontal stabilizer actuator from a Learjet or similar plane to adjust the pork chop position. A motorized, geared down compound jackscrew assembly, it definitely has the power you need for that load, and it doesn't leak down or require external plumbing and pumps. They are in the larger planes too, but those units might be too large for the space requirements.
I'm going to go the airshock route on my 73, as soon as I find or fab up some with ends that will take 9/16 bolts. Just wanna take some load off the old torsion bars and replace the shocks in one operation. Not looking to jack the front end up. Installing Onan, 200 Lb. battery, and 20 gallons of water raised the front almost another inch...
