It has been awhile since Jim Kanomata posted information about this subject.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the current record for "Worlds Fastest Motorhome" as of July 24, 2013 was 128.62 mph. The Palmer Designs GMC LSR Motorhome was only 7.78 mph short of the world record at this years 2013 Bonneville Speed Week attempt by running 120.838 mph on the 3 mile course. The team will make a second attempt at the World Record in 2014.

They are seeking the World Fastest Motorhome Record to raise awareness about Charcot Marie Tooth disease (CMT -- this has nothing to do with teeth though), similar to Muscular Dystrophy but CMT damages the peripheral nerves instead of the muscles. Eventually, many people with CMT have constant pain and may loose the ability to control their hands/arms and feet/legs. It is the second most common neurological disorder in the United States but many people have never heard about it.

Britt Palmer suffers from CMT and has committed to the quest of breaking the record for "Worlds Fastest Motorhome".

Applied GMC is helping get the word out to all of our customers and contacts in the hope that you will consider donating the CMT cause. To view a quick summary click on the document link below.

Jim is sponsoring a raffle for this fund. Just donate a minimum of $25 and you will be entered in the raffle.

I just mailed in my contribution. Perhaps some others would also like to contribute to this cause.

Lets support Britt Palmer while he still has the strength to get the land speed motorhome record for a GMC.

Hey All;

Does anyone have any idea what the dates are for this GMC LSR attempt?
I've looked at the schedule for Bonneville and it looks like this could go
off in either August, September or October. Thanks...

We have had a good little bit of discussion over the last ten days here Emery. I think you have been on vacation. Very Happy Gary, wouldn't it be nice if we could have a few gmc coaches show up and support the group? I would do it if I could. We do need to get the exact dates so folks might plan ahead.
Best wishes to those working on this.
Dan

That right I was on a GMC Mountainaire rolling rally for 8 days. I'm home just long enough to get on some new tires and am off to Rocky Mountain National Park for three days leaving tomorrow morning with my grand kids.

After reading about the German company doing the record run in Nardo, I
was reminded that I hadn't donated any money to the GMC motorhome record
run. When I tried to donate PayPal told me that the intended recipient
no longer accepts money.

Did I miss anything, other than that the run was cancelled for 2014?
