Robert,
I have rebuilt the interior of my coach and built a double bed in the rear. Used 3/4 x 3/4 steel tube welded into a frame that spans from the aluminum frame on each side. Did this to keep the bed height as low as possible and to keep the space underneath free of any support stuff. Has worked very well.
