Greetings !!

I have the original temperature (water) gauge - but the sender may have been changed... not sure.

And... I bypassed the Christmas Tree when I installed a Dick Patterson carburetor and distributor. (Ported vacuum to distributor).

Can I remove the Christmas Tree and use that hole to install another temperature gauge - one with a numeric reading ??

Anyone done this or have such a contraption ??

Thanks,

Sure, it has been done a number of times, no problem.

The gauge doesn’t care which sender it is hitch to. Both the stock and the replacement senders have the same output but different ranges. See this info: http://gmcmotorhome.info/engine.html#sender

You can see the different temp range per sender and if you're running at 1/2 with the stock sender then you're running hot.

Thanks JR -

I guess my more specific question is:

Is the threaded hole that the Christmas Tree is in the same as the threaded hole for most common water temperature senders ??

My coach is in storage - otherwise I'd go out and take a look. It's just so much easier to ask here...

Thanks again,
Steve W
