Hi, Emery, or anyone else who might know the answer.

I have a Yellowjacket R-12/R-22 charging manifold and hose set. Is there
any way to convert that to R-134?

Thanks,

RonC

You can purchase adapters that fit onto R134a fittings and that screw into the ends of the hoses on your set.
However, the cost of the adapters might be as much as an R134a hose set.
I searched the internet when I bought my adapters.

Thanks, Emery, I finally did figure out how to word my search to find the
quick-connect adaptors. Then most of the 1st 40 listings just took me to
more pages of listings for listings of listings.

If you are not is a rush for them you can find them out of China on Aliexpress.com.

I'll go look and see if I can find you a URL for some. There are basically 2 types. One type you just pull a snap ring like an air chuck and snap them on. The others install the same way but have a knob that you turn to open the charging valve on the vehicle after they are securely installed. I like the second type.

Here is a set:

The kind that KenB found are what to get. No such was available when I went looking and I did a serious search. I finally bought a whole manifold with couplers that opened the access when coupling at about a 30% success rate.
Then one day at a friend's place he had a problem that needed such stuff. Hazard Fright had their set for 50$ (now 60, but take a coupon) and it has the good couplers and some other parts. That was cheaper and faster than driving all the way home. Yes, it isn't any Yellow Jacket, but the best part of a Yellow Jacket is the access couplers and those are now a lost cause.
You will also need the 134 size tapper for the HC-12 cans.

I leave the r12 connectors on till i am finished. then screw on the
adapters, and mark the rad with a dura
sticker

gauges are cheaper($2 at a garage sale)
no leaks created
no risk to the next service
