I recently replaced my 6K Onan powerdrawer after miraculously finding one
that ran on Craigslist. Using the local start and stop, the engine was
performing well and after some routine maintenance TLC, i fired it up using
the remote cabin start and she purred like a kitten, running both A/C units
like a dream for 30 minutes.

Just about the time my heart began to soar with everything right in my GMC
world, i decided to shut the Onan down using the interior remote and when i
did, the generator started to shut down but at the same time the starter
began trying to engage over and over again on its own with motor now trying
to run again in the meantime. Pushing the remote start or stop button
didn't help, so i ran outside, pulled open the drawer and was able to stop
the motor using the local stop.

The remote cabin start now no longer seems to work, and the local start
engaged the starter though the motor did not start again immediately. I
didn't want to push it to start and risk flywheel issues if i don't address
the problem first - whatever that problem may be.

i have a newer control panel that i rescued from the old gen set that i
could try. Seems strange however that the old control panel was working
perfectly and the remote start and stop was working fine only hours before.
any ideas would be appreciated!

thanks for your help.
