Hello All,

I have returned from vacation in Oregon to NJ and am continuing to get the coach into running shape. I have dropped the tanks and replaced all fuel lines, replaced the fuel pump and put on new oil cooler lines. I have given the carb a very light rebuild. (Replaced float and valve, set float hight and a few other things on the top end.) I almost have it back on but one of the pictures I took to help me reassemble was not clear and I need help routing one of the vacuum lines.

The pictures are here

The line I am confused about is the upper left tube leaving the carb if you are facing the windshield. It appears to come from a ’T' but one end of the ’T’ is missing. So I need to know where each end of the ’T’ should lead to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. After I get the carb on its time to start the beast up. Assuming all is well, I will do the breaks, bearings and the shocks before turning my attention to the inside. Its been fun so far.

Dan,
In Maintenance Manual X7725, page 6T-4 shows the hose layout.

Vacuum off of that rear port runs several things. The cabin heater controls, the cruise control, and the temper controlled air valve on the air cleaner are the ones that come to mind. I can not give you th exact routing because mine burned up years ago and I re-plumbed all of it with new hoses after my fire.

Note: The very small hard plastic line going up the valve cover on the driver's side of the engine is going to the heater controls. I believe that the maintenance manual has hose routing diagrams. The exact routing is not important as long as you get vacuum to all of the required items and do not have any leaks.

Dan, my 73 has a port on the manifold in that vicinity...you want manifold vacuum for that branch, if you use a carburetor port, use one below the throttle plate.

Thanks Guys,

With manual X7725 I was able to figure it out, I have manual X7525 here and it does not have those helpful diagrams. PS I had one of the tubes attached to the wrong place, so please do not use a my pictures as a reference.
