Hey guys,
anyone has some information about the various owners the above TZE had
been registered with? It is a '76 eleganza ii, atm living in Southern
California.
Inquisitive minds would like to know if that coach had ever been owned
by someone in the salt belt or anything bad is known about it.
Thanks.

I wouldn't put too much weight on where that GMC was registered/owned. Mine was a Wisconsin coach for 20 years but rust was not serious. Reason - it spent every winter in Texas. Living too close to an ocean or spending a lot if time near an ocean can be just as bad. The only way to be sure of rust status is to carefully inspect the frame. After all a coach could be registered to a lower Georgia owner who just moved to GA a year ago after living in Detroit for 20 years.

Emery,
pulled the trigger on the Wollitz GMC. Horrible cosmetically from the
outside and the inside, ie. hanging snake stuff from the ceiling and the
walls, white stuff on the windscreen, but drives good, function look to
be good, doesn't seem to leak. price is okay-ish.
Receives new tires on Thursday morning, and I'll be on my way on
Thursday afternoon to VA from San Diego. Will need fixed cruise, window
leakage. And probably a gazillion more things.
Whether or not SWMBO will divorce me next year upon seeing the thing,
waits to be seen.

Lenze,
> as a unasked for advice: mwhy not start taking out the wife and girls in a new rented SOB, just to introduce them to travelling a camper?
why spoil them :) But I do take your point. The good thing is, we are
able to do that already with our Volkswagen Multivan T5. Bed and toilet
is all the SWMBO needs. And the kids can sleep up in the roof top tent.
We already tried that (with my old Multivan T3), and everybody liked it.
SWMBOs main concerns are the mechanical abilities of her husband. I hope
to get things up to snuff (can you say that?) so that we won't have any
cause of road side maintenance.

Peer Oliver,
Welcome to the hobby. I was doubting whether you would ever pull that trigger and buy one. I can't wait for Matt Colie's blessing to you and your coach!
Why would I doubt? I have not ever gotten my coach Onan started. You killed a deal because of the Onan not starting a month or so ago. Mine's not much of a priority when stopping and keeping going are the main concerns. But, I have got those shiny Alcoas!
Very happy for you and envious about your trip. Hope it is really trouble free.

Peer Oliver,
Just give me a PM and it sounds good. Have the Sunday morning commitment, but afterwards, a clear shot!
I must clear it with management, I have to add. Denton is quite a distance, but not too bad from south of Dallas. Sounds like fun.
I had to look up SWMBO but I have one, too.

Hal,
> Sounds like you will be passing through Las Cruces. If I can be any assistance (or not) give me a call.
Thanks a lot. The number is noted! My current trip schedule would have
called for a stop Dening for the 2nd night. But I am sure I can extend
that ride a bit, if she allows me to...

Peer,
It might be a good idea to publish your whole planned route and schedule so people along the way will know your coming through their
neck of the woods and you might need help.
Unfortunately I will be heading up to Knoxville, TN on Friday, August 1st to see Chuck, Cathy, and Spot Dog (the cat) and won't be
in Humble, TX.

Like Hal, I am along your route too, in Tucson. My contact info is on the Black List. Please feel free to call me if you have any problems, questions or concerns and are in my area. Cell phone number is (5 two o) two4o-983six. My house is not very convenient to the freeway, but not that hard to get to and I have room for you to park, and can easily accommodate you.

Hello Trevor,

Thank you. I do not plan on shipping it over just yet. There are way too
many things in the US to visit with the GMC and my family :)

So far so good. Knock on wood. Some leakage on the last 10-15 seconds
of fuel fill-up is all that I've experienced so far. I hope it will
continue that way.
