Tony,
If you haven’t run your generator for periods before as a safety precaution I would suggest that you shutdown and check the oil every 12 hours to see if you're using any, if not then go once a day.

That is impressive. No wonder they put a low oil shutoff on it. Quality built in that one.

You're going to go thru 2/3 to 3/4 gal. per gal. of fuel per hour. Total max of
fuel onboard of 50 gals. minus 6 gal. 44 gals. doing the math.
Now that being said you would be parked next to the gas pump. Us in Florida
usually figure safely 30 hours of run time for hurricane season.

I filled up right before and gauges say just under 3/4 on Main and just over 3/4 on Aux.New oil filter and change at the dealership before the trip.I need another 30hrs at least. So I will fill it up before the overnight stay.I am not too sure but the hrs on the remote start switch say 635.It is spinning on the right so I will see if it is actually working.

After thinking a bit this has been a really inexpensive trip.No airline, rental car, hotel or even camp fees.So it ends up gas....

Not a bad idea what JR mentioned about checking oil level.
It is good to rely on safty accessories, but never want to rely totally on them when given chance.
Oh! do not open the fill cap when the engine is running, did that in 1980 and I learned a lesson.

2 hot days and 2 hot nights.Just filled up with 26 gallons and 1 qt for the gennny. So calculations are really close to a little over 1/2 a gallon per hour.I just restarted and looks like it will be one more night like this.

My Onan has now been running reliable for over 60 days and I ran it for an hour with the air conditioning load on it. I took the GMC out for the first time in really hot weather. The roof air kept me comfortable in 90 plus temp and high humidity. Engine temp also stayed good in some mixed city driving. I may order some Dura cool and attempt the dash air next.

I have not heard anything from Jim Miller for a long time. I hope he is ok. He taught me so much about getting the Onan working.

The last I heard from him both Senior and Junior were just fine. Jim Jr. was very busy doing a big installation and did not have much free time available for other things. A few of us still work for a living (not me).

A few weeks ago in an attempt to reduce the oil seepage rate of my Onan I replaced the oil sender (which wasn't leaking) and the oil filter base gaskets (which were leaking). I used a PS117 sender from Autozone as the replacement.

Things looked good, the Onan ran fine, so a job well done -- or so I thought.

A week-or-so later we're at the beach and the Onan stops running about every 2 to 3 minutes. It restarts immediately every time so I know it's not a fuel issue. After a few stop-starts I give up. When we get home I measure the 'new' PS117 and find it to be about 150 ohms with the engine running and about 10 ohms with the engine off. Whacking it with a wrench makes the ohm readings jump all over the place. Went back to Autozone to get a warranty replacement (which still works fine as of yesterday's beach trip).

For grins I dug the old sender out of the trash bin and measured it. It's open. Whacking it makes no difference, it's open all the time. This means that for who-knows-how-long my Onan would have never shut down due to low oil pressure.

Conclusion:

1. Old oil senders can fail electrically and you would not know it until you either measured the sender or you let the engine run out of oil (big bang theory).

2. New oil senders can fail electrically and in a pretty interesting way.

3. I wonder how many other Onans are out there with oil senders that don't work. Unlike with a cars dash oil light, on the Onan you will never know if the sender is closing at low pressure like it should.
