When I went to the Sunshine Statesman Rally in Marathon, Fl in May 2014, I bought a SunPass so I didn't have to fool with the growing number of unavoidable toll roads.
When I returned to TN I looked at my SunPass statement on the Web to see how much they hit me for tolls.
I noticed that they charged me for a 3-axle vehicle. I went to the Contact Us link and wrote a short and concise message asking them: "How do you determine the number of axles a vehicle has? Do you use the SAE definition? Thank you."
A few weeks later a nice gentleman from SunPass called and said he had researched the GMC Motorhome and agree to correct my toll charges to a 2-axle rate. He also said he would try to set my account to only charge me for the 2 axle rate for future tolls.

Good work Rick. I will be interested to see how the Pennsylvania Turnpike charges the GMC when using the electronic EZ Pass system. It was my understanding that if using EZ pass you just pay the two axle rate. I pull a number of different trailers and it does not charge extra for the extra axles on the trailer so I am hoping for the same with the GMC. If you pay with cash they hit you for every axle. The EZ Pass on my motorcycles also get a special rate.

I went across the Carquinez bridge in the SF Bay area two weeks ago and they nicked me for 3 axles using the automated Fastrak system.

In California, it use to be considered as 2 axel, however, in order to keep
things simple and sweet for them, it is classified as a 3 axel.
I remember back in 1980s, I would be arguing with the toll takers.
Now I think of it, it must been comical to have an Asian flapping his tong
at a toll taker.

I cross the Carquinez or the Martinez Brtollsidge regularly and often towing a trailer with the GMC. $25 a pop. I'd get a Fast Pass if it would save me $10 a trip but Cal and Bay Area would rather have the cash than happy citizens.
How is it that The San Diego- Coronado Bridge paid off its bonds with less than 20 years of tolls and then discontinued the tolls but the 6 Bay Area Bridges with their high volume of traffic are continually increasing the price of their tolls?
