Started,choke sets high idle, bags air up AC on.I take apart the fence and open the gates,I get in pop the gas and it stalls,never to start again.I instantly think I broke the timing chain as it seems to be flying in the breeze.I rip the cap off and see the rotor turning,so....Then I change the ignition module to my spare even thoigh I have not checked for spark.I get it together and use the screwdrver on the valve cover and I see a nice spark.
I close the hatch thinking It is going to fire off,No.I spray some starting fluid in the top and still no. What did I break?

Quick n dirty check - pour a bit og gas down the carb, floor it, and crank. As it leans it should at least PUT at some point.
Second and not so quick - if you mistrust the timing chain, check the distributor with the #1 cylinder at TDC It's possible for it to skip enough that the sparks don't correspond to the piston position.

The plugs are probably fouled and wet from running at full choke. Give it AIR by cranking with the throttle wide open.

Gas down the throat is next,I thought starting fluid would do it.I can only hope for fouling and not a skipped chain.Keep suggestions coming,thanks

When pouring gas in the carb to try and start, be sure to put the air filer cover back on, especially important if you think it might be a timing issue.
If really don't care much for your eyebrows and other facial hair, you may disregard this message.

It just occurred to me that your choke pull off might be bad. It's supposed to force the choke open a bit within a few seconds of starting. If it doesn't, the choke will stay completely shut and the engine will stall.

And pay attention to Otterwan. I flashburned all the dust and cobwebs under the dash of my SOB doing this. Proper way - loosen the wingnut on the filter cannister, pour gas into the well the threaded rod comes up (slowly) and then replace the wingnut. Saves taking the top off the filter, too.
