Eric Tanner and I were planning on taking our coaches to an "All-GM" Car Show in August in Rockville, MD. Apparently this is the 40th annual All GM show and the organizer cannot remember ever having a GMCMH there at the show.

http://calendar.visitmaryland.org/Views/Events/Details.aspx?id=86283

Question is do we have any materials that we can bring to hand out? Just usual facts/figures/FAQ etc.

If anyone in the area is interested in coming to the show, let me know. The more the merrier. There is not currently a "category" for the GMCMH so apparently they put us with the trucks. (Boo) But if we get enough to come, perhaps we can get our own category. :-D

Thanks!

Tell me where, on the web, that you haven't looked and I'll tell you where you can.

Yes, there's a ton of information available. Some in great PDF (correctly converted) and some just "stuff".

Do you want historical information or information from that period?

I know there is tons out there. Haven’t really had a chance to go through all the GM sites. Right now I am just looking for a “ready to print” pamphlet of some kind that has FAQ’s, benefits of ownership, dealer support etc.

This is the first time either of us have shown our GMs at a “car show” so we are going into it as more of “brand ambassadors” to get some more people into the game that is owning one of these beauties. I know others have done the “car show” circuit before and it would be awesome if we presented a united front of sorts so we’re all effectively on the same page.

Jared,

With Eric you are in good hands. If I was still living in Virginia
I'd love to take mine along. The Tidewater Crabs did a local charity
car show a few years ago. I've also done car shows here in the Orlando
area. My advice is give your coach a good cleaning inside and out, stock the
refer with cold drinks and food for the day, run out the awnings and enjoy the
show. Answer questions when asked. Keep it simple and don't overwhelm the
crowd. Sell the product thru example and forget the brochures. If someone is
interested give them a few web addresses, not a hard sell. You're not a used car
salesman. Chill, enjoy the show and tell Eric I said "Hi".

I have done several car shows. Teri has fixed up info sheets that we place in window facing the lookers. They have 8-10 simple facts right in front of them. With Eric, you won't lack for info but try to keep simple. Do you have one of the goose egg plaques that Applied sells? That would be good in the rear window. Byron and others did some brochures years back. Maybe you can get your hands on some of those but I find placing the answers to anticipated questions right before their eyes works great. They will throw away handouts. Make website address available also. Make Eric keep his responses brief. Very Happy He knows enough to keep folks there until their deodorant wears off.
Have fun, I always do.
Dan

Folks, I took my GMCMH to the St. Paul All GM car show two weeks ago. The dudes running the show were honestly thrilled to have the MH at the show. We parked the coach with the Pontiac group since they have a GMC Truck chapter and our coach shells were built at Pontiac. We had a ball. Be prepared for a lot interest.
