According to the 1975 Maintenance Manual, the OEM water tank is polypropylene (page 24J-7) and the OEM holding tank is polypropylene (page 24L-3).

I have mentioned this before -- when I took my original black tank (1973) to the plastic tank shop I told them it was polypropylene per the manual. But they determined it was polyethylene when they welded new bungs on the top.

Rob Mueller asked someone to post WHAT THE 1975 MAINTENANCE MANUAL SAYS. I am sure a lot of people have polyethylene fresh water tanks and polypropylene holding tanks, and vice versa, and both of one or both of the other...
