We had a tornado the other day, north of Toronto near(sort of) Dick
Paterson's (well not really near Dick's.) The wind destroyed a number
of reasonably new houses. about 100 can't be lived in for now.
Someone had a U Haul truck in their driveway and the truck got blown
over on their lawn. Didn't see any GMCMHs in the tv coverage.

I saw some of the damage to the roofs on those new houses. Don't they nail the shingles down?

If the area does not normally experience high wind speeds, they may use pneumatic STAPLERS to hold shingles down. Staples won't hold in a big wind worth dog poop!

I was in Detroit at the time so I'll see what happened. With 100,000 trucks in the fleet we do lose some :)It was probably the same storm that delayed me 5 hours trying to get into Detroit.
