Air,
I'm not sure how, but I failed to get your message directly. As you may
not know, we're communicating via two different routes: Some of us (me
included) are still using the old fashioned "mailing list" email system, to
which everyone's supposed to belong (www.gmcnet.org). Others use a web
site based system called the "GMC Forum" (
http://gmc.backyardwildlife.com/GMCforum/), which is really just another
way of sending and receiving emails from the GMCNet. Those of us who
persist in our old ways sometimes don't get everything from the Forum, so I
suspect that's what you're using. Please be sure you're signed up at
GMCNet too.
With that out of the way, we're sure glad to have another interested
Georgian. As you'll see from my signature block, I'm not that far away,
and with 15 years of GMCing behind me,1 and a wide assortment of GMC junk
around, I may be useful to you when you've gotten a coach. There are
probably 20 GMC owners within 100 miles of you, so it should be pretty easy
to hook you up with someone to introduce you and the family to the actual
hardware. Perhaps the best way will be to attend the GMC Dixielanders
rally scheduled for 17-19 July in Cleveland, GA. You'll be more than
welcome; there are plenty of motels close by. Details are at
www.gmcdixielanders.org.
You mentioned a GMC specialist in Buford, GA. That's Zeb Frady and his
Southland Motorhome Co. He's a great resource and may have leads to
available coaches in the Atlanta area. He, and now his son, have been
working on GMC's since 1976.
