How many of you at one point or another had to notch your frames to make a poop tank fit, or the exhaust system to clear?

I had to cut some additional clearance for the newer style Thetford valve. Does that count?

Miguel,

My frame has been cut, bridged, for both the gray tank, maybe the black tank, I forget, but definitely a big piece missing for the exhaust. Web is missing, but a big strap from an old horse drawn hay mow was slapped on. Doesn't give the best feeling of stability, but that plywood is stout. There is a skid plate bridging the gray tank. It kind of reinforces the frame.

Not the best sight, looking under for the first time.

Yes and yes courtesy of po(s)? And myself for exhaust. I did ensure the the bottom flanges of the xmembers were replaced to close the channel.

When I did my mascerator install, I bored a hole through the drivers side
frame rail behind the generator for the outlet plumbing. I wanted to
protect it from damage caused by tail dragging. On the 78 Royales there is
a tri angle brace across the corner between the frame side rail and the
rear most crossmember. In that triangle created, there is just enough space
to mount a mascerator pump. I figure that a 2" hole in the area between the
rear bogie and bumper is O.K. Do not cut away any section that is between
the front wheels and the bogie boxes. If you have to cut a crossmember for
3" tank drains, be sure to make a structural piece to tie both sides of
what you cut away back together, particularly in the area of the bogies. I
have seen many factory rear crossmembers that had clearance for plumbing
right in the center.
