I expected that with the new oem intake and qjet the floor would be flat again, but when I put my ruler on the alu-framework it still is proud on the airfilter house I trust the 3" is original ( if cut up)
I do have a 2" filter house but would that be ok ?

I am a buyer for a new (old) oem filterhouse

Appie,

I don't quite understand what you have installed on Olga, if you have an OEM cast iron intake manifold and a Q-jet an OEM air filter
will be below the floor level.

You note that you have a 2" and 3" air filter housing, which I assume to be aftermarket, the problem with those is that the base
which the air filter sits on is flat whereas the OEM air filter housing is recessed so the top is lower.

See Parts Book 78Z / Section 12 / Page 12-6 / Air Filter.

If anyone does have a spare for Appie make sure it is for a 455 with HEI ignition!

Appie,

The original removable engine cover (cockpit floor section) has a circular recess for the air filter housing.

That is what my coach still has; no interference with what I assume is original air cleaner housing.

I can take a picture of it if you wish, Appie!
