Hello All

This is not much of a trip report but it was a big trip for me. I sold my home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula last August. I had lived there for 30 years. I then bought 40 acres and a house just south of Mackinaw City, Michigan. About a 150 mile move. A pole barn was built last fall but the floor remained dirt until about a month ago. I had negotiated the use of my former pole barn for 1 year and that is where the GMC and a great deal of my things have been. With my new floor complete, including a pit, I brought the GMC here a couple of days ago. It had not been run since last April. I checked the tires, oil and air bags. The batteries had been on a smart charger. It is a 403 engine with 107k miles and a rebuilt carb. A Manny tranny with power drive. The engine always cranks for a while if I do not pump the gas, so I let it crank a bit to build oil pressure. I then pumped it a few times and after a little more cranking it fired. It stalled a few times but finally stayed running. I connected a small boat to the hitch and hit the road. I stopped to fill the gas tanks and then drove the 150 miles. The coach ran smooth as always and easily towed the boat. It is lighter than the Jeep that I tow. I arrived home safely and pulled the coach into the new barn. It is good to have it here so I can continue make improvements and get ready for a few trips. After all, I have only owned it for 13 years and it is not yet finished.
If any of you are passing through this summer and need a stop over or the use of the pit, just give a call. I just sent an update to the Black List with new contact information. I would suggest that you wait until July or later as the mosquitoes are very bad this year.

Rick
