Honda ev6010 installs very easy. Only hassle is exhaust install. Most have been installed on a plywood mounting panel, cut according to the .pdf posted on bdub site. You may or may not want to remove the Onan slide out assembly. My coach did not have any Onan related stuff in it before I started.
Honda requires, for proper cooling, that the genset have about 1" clearance around the genset. Do not put anything that might block air flow in front of the fan. The Honda exhausts hot air out the bottom. Be sure those vents are not blocked.
The remote Onan switch can be used to remote the Honda, without buying the expensive Honda remote panel. Again, the info is on the bdub site.
Honda calls for a #4 gauge cable to connect the starter to the battery. I used a lighter gauge, but I intend to upgrade that cable.
If I had to do it again, I would remove the floor from the OEM genset compartment and replace it with a CNC cut mounting plate, isolated from the frame rail with isolation mounts.
I have had no cooling issues, or any other problems with the Honda. I did take the coach to an exhaust/muffler shop and had a custom exhaust made for the install. If you can purchase the Honda Type B exhaust, exhaust might be easier.
My Honda is great. Too bad California drove them off the market. P.M. With specific questions.
I still have a re-built ev6010 available.

download the installation manual and pay close attention to the spacing in the cabinet. It requires a tight fit for proper airflow across the fuel pump and carburetor, and to prevent recirc of hot air from the radiator. I am currently installing a 4010 in a Travel trailer and have had to make a compartment from scratch.
It also says not to use wood for the compartment, I have a 3/16" steel plate with the holes cut into it going over a unistrut frame. The box is galvanized steel and I am making a shroud below out of the same. A little bit more needed for me than in a GMC but I want to be sure I don't have any heat problems.

Honda runs at 3600 rpm, Onan at 1800. So, noise level is higher pitched. Inside the coach, the Honda is quiet. Running genset at Bean Station, no one made mention of a high noise level. And, no one complained. Custom muffler installation helped.
I do have my genset compartment lined with a flameproof material, designed for that purpose. Picked it up at Bontrager's, so do not have a current source for it.
The gen compartment in my Avion easily provides the required 1" clearance from the walls for the ev6010. In fact, with a little planning, you could easily get about 1 1/2 inch clearance around the Honda to the rear, and both sides and still not have to make any changes to the compartment. The clearance from the top of the Honda to the top of the gen compartment is very close to the required 1". Front of Honda to door is easily more than the required inch.
Avion gen compartment is sheet metal. I'm guessing OEM on all GMCs was metal.
Interesting side note, ev4010 and ev6010 are physically within one inch of being the same size. Engines are identical, with a reducing gasket in the intake flow used to reduce the power output of the engine in the ev4010. Sorry, you guys with 23' GMCs, both are too big for your gen compartment.
