I am writing this to let everyone know how his surgery went today. They removed the new lens (from Monday) by cutting it in two and pulling it out. The capsule that holds the lens was damaged too much to use it for the replacement lens so they put the lens above the capsule in the sulcus which is between the iris and the lens capsule.

The surgeon removed the patch from the eye this afternoon to examine it. He says it looks good but the eye is swollen a lot and the pressure is very high. He has scheduled an appointment for Friday morning so well know more then.

Emery won't be on the net until after that exam as he has a patch back over the eye and it's hard for him to use the keyboard.

He says he owes a couple of people an answer to their technical questions and he'll get to them next weekend.

Thank you all for your concern.

Michelle, thanks for the update. Sometime in the sort of near future I will
need cataract surgery on my right eye. My left has had cataract surgery
and a vitrectomy with membrane peel. (inside the eye, in front of the retina0
I currently still see much better out of my "original" right eye than
the left. but the left is gradually getting better and the right
is gradually getting worse. I'll talk to the opthamologist agout
what happened to Emery because I'd like to know how often he
says this happens. Right now, if I couldn't see with my right eye
daily functioning would be a big challenge.

I wish Emery well.
