I think I just slept on the fold down couches in the rear my last weekend. I'm going to build a platform bed in the back and pull the two couches out. Because my coach has been redone, it doesn't have the sofa with the bunk and straps (just a couch) , and instead of a dinette has two flex steel captains chairs on the passenger side. I have two kids and need more sleeping room anyway.

I won't have a problem building the bed in the back. What I am curious about is pulling the captains chairs (maybe using them for the driver and passenger seats replacing the originals) and using the two rear sofas to fabricate a custom length fold down couch for the passenger side. Cut and weld the frames together and recover. It seems I read this has been done before. Any ideas or lessons learned?

Thanks,
Galen
