I had cataract surgery last Monday. I was told that something could go wrong and it did. The capsule that holds the lens ruptured. Probably on Saturday. The lens shifted and I see very blurry. My surgeon opened his office for me on Sunday as he was very concerned. He has scheduled me for another surgery tomorrow morning. He will remove the lens and probably place another lens on top of the capsule under the iris. This, of course is not the ideal location and might result in reduced vision but would be better than blindness.

Wish me luck.

Best wishes for a successful procedure and quick recovery!
Invasive eye surgeries are no fun. I've had five eye surgeries, one accident repair, two for cataract, and two muscle surgeries. I was hit in the eye with a pen in school (13yrs old) which caused a trauma-induced cataract, along with much damage to the sclera, iris and cornea. They only remove the anterior membrane in youngsters, but after a couple years my posterior membrane thickened, reducing vision, so it also had to be removed.

The lens shifted and I see very blurry. My surgeon opened his office for me

Doggone it any way. Someone, my mother I think, once told me that good
things sometimes happen to bad people, and vice versa. Now that you have
had the bad stuff happen, you are entitled to some good stuff. Judy and I
and all the GMC Cascades currently on the road on the rolling rally wish
you all the best.

I ain't wishing you luck. However I am praying for the doctor to make the proper adjustments, for Michelle since she is your nurse, and for you also since you are the one in pain and suffering. Please let Teri and me know what happened when you can. We are in St. Louis today getting scans so we know what is going on with my body.
