Got a message from Dan Gregg saying he can't log onto the forum any more. Here is his message: "The forum logged me out and won't let me back in, or reset password. This happened when I was bragging on Eugene, ha. Should have kept my mouth shut. Think it was Tuesday. You might put a post up about me being banished if you have time."
Eugene, can you help?

He is NOT banished. I logged in as Dan G. using XP and firefox and his userid and password a few minutes ago. I am working with Dan to see what I can do to help him. It looks like he is not the only one affected.

That's what I told him. I figured it was a problem with his email server, I didn't even consider it was his device. I was off for a few days due to having a Yahoo email, changed to Gmail and still couldn't get back on. I had to get both Bdub and Eugene (Batman) to help. Missed being on for a few days.

A different log in has been added to the home page and I can log in there on lap top but the Droid still wont log in either place. When I go to post here on the lap top I have to log in again when page changes.

Same problem here on my android and also on Dan's Apple ipad.
I'm hoping Eugene sees this thread in the next few days and takes a look at the problem.
It is a volunteer effort and a free service Eugene is providing so I do not want to push him too hard.
A second problem not GMCnet oriented. Dan is on Hotmail and right now Hotmail is rejecting email from Comcast. I tried 3 different userids on two different IP addresses. All emails were rejected. I talked to Comcast and they pointed a finger at Hotmail. I could not find a number to call at hotmail so I sent them an email. I do not expect much too happen very quickly since Hotmail is a free poorly supported service. The last time I had one of these it was an ISP in Ontario. It took me 3 weeks to find the right guy to talk to to fix it.

For me this is just wonky. It is not machine specific or browser specific but time/browser specific. Onmy Mac, Chrome wouldn't work but Safari did. On my I pad Safari was working,but today only chrome will work. Perhaps try different browsers and the silly thing will suddenly work. Part of the time it says I am logged in but still requires me to log in. This morning I was trying Safari and it would not work. Went to Chrome and it said I was logged in but still required me to log in to post.
I think it has had too many cookies!

Well I was too critical of Hotmail. I got a note back saying they resolved their email problem and it is now working OK. I checked by sending Dan a message and that went through just fine.
During the interim I used a Gmail account to communicate with Dan. I have not touched that account since Jan 2007. I sent two emails to him and received 2 back PLUS 7 new Gmail generated SPAM ones after that. They were not there when I first signed in so they are not to left overs from years past.
After I sent and received 2 emails to and from Dan, Gmail started sending their spam to me. One of them was a welcome to utube. I did not sign up for utube. Prior to this the last email in the inbox was from Rick Denney in 2007. I guess I'll just shut it down for another 7 years.

Try work around:
download the chrome browser(app) to your I-device.
run that on the i-device, and try to log in.
for some reason, I did do a google search for GMCNet, and went to the site by clicking links that way, rather then typing in the address.

Login on the same ipad:
Chrome = yes
Safari = yes
Webkit (iCab, chrome/mac useragent) = no
Note that iCab is my primary ipad browser and was working here until just 2 or 3 days ago.

Maybe this will hep. I just tried Chrome. Happens to be a Mac. Anyway, it showed me not logged in and would not log me in.
I went to cookies and found 8 for Birdfeeder. I deleted all 8 of them. I went to the GMC Birdfeeder and was able to log in instantly.
Finding Cookies in the Chrome app is not intuitive, to say the least. (Remember this is Mac Chrome
Here is how I did it: ( https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?hl=en )
Adjust cookie and site data permissions
Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.
Click Show advanced settings.
In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
In the "Cookies" section, you can change the following cookies settings:
Delete cookies
Click All cookies and site data to open the Cookies and site data dialog.
To delete all cookies, click Remove all at the bottom of the dialog.
To delete a specific cookie, hover over the site that issued the cookie with your mouse, then click the X that appears on the right corner.
You can also choose to remove all cookies created during a specific time period, using the Clear Browsing Data dialog.
