Hello All,
I purchased a new fresh water sender (from Allied to keep the $ in the family) to put on my used tank however neither have the bolts. Does anyone know what size and length bolts I need?

Todd,
They are fairly small, I would try a 10-24 by 1/2” long in stainless steel pan head machine screw as a starter. Go to your favorite ACE hardware and buy one of each of this size and the next size bigger (size 12-24 ) . I suggest ACE as most have a very good fastener section. If you have a favorite hardware store go there. The big box store always want to sell you a pack of 5 or 25 and just one and they don’t carry SS stuff sometimes.

Todd,
True Value hardware stores also have a good selection of nuts, bolts, screws, etc. The company that supplies them is called Hillman.
Give your local store a call and see if they have them.

I don't recall if they are 24 or 32 threads per inch. However I do recommend that one uses bolts with a hex insert in the head for an allen wrench or a hex driver in a socket. That makes it much easier to remove and install than a phillips head screw.
ACE hardware carry thsese in stainless steel. Regular steel will corrode and become almost impossible to remove in a few years.

Oddly enough I have my spare water tank sitting in the back of my truck.
This tank came out of a 73 Canyon Land. The ring for the sensor has five
exposed studs to secure sensor to tank.
It took a 11/32" end wrench to break the nuts loose. I surmise that it is
an #8-32 screw. I tried a nut driver but I was only able to get one nut,
the others were to close to the sensor frame for the nut driver to clear.
This tank is the same as my 76 PalmBeach in shape as well as porting except
the main water inlet is 2 1/2" vs 1 1/4" for the PalmBeach.
If the the interior ring would have welded nuts or tapped threaded hole
than what Emery suggest would work great.
