Insurance in CA.

Most of my insurance is with State Farm. Been using them for over 40 years. But they don't want to insure RVs for some reason. They wanted 900.00 for the same thing I got from Progressive for 350. My TZE has been insured with Progressive sense 2004. I have had to use tow service 2 times and they were very good.

As I know I won't get much for a total or repairs I only buy liability for both the Motor home and Samurai. I have my towed 86 Samurai insured with State Farm and I am beginning to thank they don't want it either as they keep raising the prices.

I called AAA and they want the about the same amount as State Farm to cover just the Samurai BUT they want to cover the TZE also. If I insure both the TZE and Samurai with them it will cost me 200 less than State Farm and Progressive each year.

I am concerned about the towing. When I need a tow or roadside service on 1 of my State farm insured cars I just have done what is needed and give the paid bill to them for reimbursement. NOT SO EASYWITH THE TZE if you are stuck in an unfamiliar area.
With progressive I just call the 24 hr number and the take good care of you.

The AAA agent quoted the price is for up to 100 miles of RV towing.

How many of you have used AAA for RV towing and were you happy with them?

I have AAA RV Plus and have used it. They will tow up to 100 miles to where ever you want to
to be towed. ....not just the nearest shop that they choose. I've had it for years and
like it.

Hi Jim,

Do you call a 24 hr dispatcher or do you have to call around locally?

I have used AAA for towing my minivan and it was great. However, I use Allstate RV Road Help for my coach since it has a much better towing policy. Luckily I have not needed to use it yet.

Jim,
I have insurance on my coach with State Farm.
Talk to your agent and confront him.
I have heard that the agents do not have much to say these days.

Wayne,

AAA has a 24 hour 800 number that you call (it's on the AAA card) anywhere you break down.

I CSAA(AAA) with gold towing service. They have been very good.
I have full coverage with multiple vehicle discount and home insurance.
In case of loss, the agent told me they would pay for a similar replacement.

Regards,
Bill
