I remember seeing on the forum that the brake booster is not common to other GM vehicles due to the push rods are different length? Ive got a coach that has a vac leak in the booster and need something to replace it with to get me back. Is there anything form Napa or autozone/oreilys that will work or modify it to work?
Thanx. David

Dave-

you pose a good question, most people post about upgrading the brakes, either the booster or the master cylinder. and needing to make sure the correct rod is in place. not just replacing stock booster. I know I upgraded to a sensitized booster from Jim Bounds, and it came with a rod.

as far as a non-upgraded booster, I am not sure what to tell you.

However I would think someone might have a used one you could get after they upgraded theirs. I have my used one on a shelf you could have, but it would take probably over a week to ship it to you.

I did a couple searches on the part number in the gmcmi exchange book, and could not come up with a part.

It is my understanding that the brake booster used on the GMC MH is unique to the GMC. Get Jim K or Jim B to overnight you one if you are in a rush.

Dave,
How badly is it leaking, and are you able to determine from where?

A bad seal behind the Master cylinder might be a potential cause, especially if the pushrod is rusty, or the seal is hard. You might try cleaning and lubricating the seal and push rod with silicone grease.

Dave, I have an extra that was given to me by someone replacing it with a sensitized booster. I'm at the intersection of 95 and I10.
