Over a year ago the GMCMI board approved putting all past newsletters, the index and the membership roster on a thumb drive for members.
Billy Massey, Membership Manager for GMCMI proposed to the Board that we also include much of the information from his BDUB site and that we get a 4GB drive and call it the GMCMI Swiss Army Knife of GMC information.

Since this had to go back to the board for approval it was done at the Board Meeting in Montgomery, TX and it was approved.
Meanwhile, I guess Billy got tired of waiting so he decided to set up his own GMC thumb drive and he used the name GMC Swiss Army Knife and has sold it for $30. It is available from Billy.
.
This then prempted GMCMI from using the Swiss Army Knife name.

GMCMI now has available, for its members, a GMCMI thumb drive with the past newsletters, rosters and even more information which includes many things from my personal collection.

It will have the maintenance manuals, owner manuals (including Coachmen manuals), parts index, Dealer Service and Recall Bulletins, GMC Motorhome assembly manual, Onan-Refrigerator-Air Conditioner-Furnace manuals and about 400 other things on it that have been compiled over the years. It even has the GMC video of the land speed attempt and a video of the Barbie GMC original TV ad. Lots of informative and fun things.

GMCMI members can order this from Kim Weeks. kimweeksgmc@gmail.com or (612) 501-4600 at a cost of $20 including mailing.

It is 4gb. It has plenty of room for future newsletters which can be downloaded from the GMCMI site as they are published each quarter. There is also room for more GMC information as it develops.

Please contact Kim for information on how to pay. I believe she can take Paypal.

Of course Billy got tired of waiting, you said yourself, "Over a year ago
the GMCMI board approved putting all past newsletters, the index and the
membership roster on a thumb drive for members."

So now, having bought Billy's, it will cost another $20 to have something
similar but not identical, and end up with not 1 but 2 cutesy memory drives.

The 'Board' took too long and my compliments to Billy for actually
converting talk into product. The 'Board; can suck the hind teat on this
one!!!
Next time perhaps the membership should know what's coming down the pipes !

In case you were wondering what I thought!

Mike, I was a bit surprised by your reply.
You are wrong on this. That drive was available and advertised for the members with the newsletters and rosters as originally approved. If you had read the newsletters and the web site you would have known about it. I guess you are the one "sucking the hind teat".

We had a few members order it long ago. We advised those buyers that we were working on an expanded version and we would upgrade them at no additional charge. We are now mailing the new version to those buyers.

This GMC list is not the official place to post messages to our members as the majority are not on this list. They get their club information from the newsletters and from GMCMI.com. Apparently you didn't.

Right you are Emery....
My membership had lapsed and thus I wasn't getting newsletters and also
unable to read the web pages. Clubs and affiliations take on much less
significance when one is dealing with cancer.

You saw Billy advertising the Swiss Knife and chose not to comment?
