Need some help diagnosing an electrical problem.

The parking, clearance and dash lights will NOT turn on. Neither front or rear lights turn on.

Blinkers work. Headlights work.

Did not find any burned out fuses at the under dash fuse box.

I've never been very good at troubleshooting electrical problems, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes fuses look good but are not functioning properly. For example it could be burned just under the cap at one end where it won't show.
The best way to test them is with a 12 volt test light. Ground the wire and then touch the light probe to each side of the fuse. If its bad it won't light at one end.

Have you replaced the radio lately? There is a gray wire that went to the lights on the original wire that will test as a ground and some have used it to ground their radio. That gray wire leads to the headlight switch and if grounded will cause your lights to be off.

If it is not a fuse, get this drawing to help you figure out what color wires you are chasing down (looking for breaks and insulation worn off).

I've found that those glass fuses sometimes corrode in the holder and that just moving them around a bit will fix the problem.

Turns out it was an oxidized fuse holder. Fuse was good and clean, but not the contacts that the fuse was touching. Parking ights are working again Smile
