Thanks for leading me to Ken Henderson's description for making a master cylinder rod measuring gauge. I went to the men's mall yesterday and got a telescopic radio antenna from an old truck. (they didn't even charge me) Today, I will make a rod gauge to determine the correct length of the rod. I'll let you know how it works.

As a side note, I collect solid antennas usually off of Ford Tarus' when I'm there. I usually get 8 or 10 of them per trip. The junk yards are full of Fords.

They are stainless and stiff. Besides being good stock for ham radio antennas, they make good pull and push rods for things like by bypass valves in the water system. I use them for all kinds of things around here. The last time I was there the guy charged me $5 for 10 of them.

Which brings up another thought. At the Hamilton rally we usually go to Trester's junk yard. For some reason we did not do that last year. So this year Bob and I will be going for sure on Friday and maybe Thursday. (They are closed on Saturday, and Sunday).

Trester's is around 12 acres of concrete with lots of of good cars and trucks to be picked over.

I have a Colorado work truck. The items GM deleted in the work truck are all installed on mine. The parts for those deleted items all came from Trester's. I replaced the entire exhaust on my Blazer from there. It cost me $10.00. Dan Gregg got the seats for his VDUB there.

They are good people and it is a good place to visit. I always stop anytime I pass through the area.

For any one who wants to go with us to Trester's, arrive at the Miller's by Thursday or early Friday. I'll have my Blazer and so will Bob, so we can take a few people with us.

Also for you hams, do not forget that the R&L Electronics candy store is in town. Open M-F until 6PM and Sat until 3PM.

I'll make this announcement again later in a clean thread. I realize it is buried here.
