I KNOW that this was discussed within the last few days, but I must have deleted the message(s) about it. Can anybody PLEASE copy that back to me? I did find a saved message that quoted a WIX 51762 but that was from several years back. It does seem that much if not most of the oil that is leaking originates near the oil filter, so I probably also need the gasket that holds the oil filter adaptor onto the engine. That's probably most likely available at a reasonable cost from Jim K.
On another note, I find that a neighbor across the street is a mechanic who has actually worked on a few GMC motorhomes in the distant past in addition to LOTS of Olds 455s. After we brought the engine up to temp, he advised that he doesn't believe the knock is coming from rod bearings but that the MAIN bearings are the culprit! SOOOOOOOOOO, my engine truly does need replacement or rebuilding. WAAAAHHH!
TIA!

Mac,
You are correct the GMCMI Parts List notes the WIX P/N 51762 for the Onan along with 17 other filters! :-)

Rob M.
