In fact it has spread to all the surrounding area. Fluid in his lungs, we think is what is causing his speech to be raspy and breathless. He can still walk to the bathroom but needs help getting out of bed and walking. Lately he has been in the hospital for a week and now yesterday I took him to United Living Center in Brookings (20 min. from us) for Hospice care. He requests No visitors. It was a long day and when he got into his bed he had a long nap. He eats very little and naps a lot. Before going to the hospital this last time, Bob organized an Auction (May 10) to sell everything in his shop, including the GMC and the Chev. Tracker. Bob Miller is coming today to help with the GMC parts etc. listing. And then 2 days before the Auction a few more friends will come to help with the Auction. So it is kind of busy around here! Hope you will pass the word along to others.

Rob,
I had been in email contact with him several times this past winter, which he stated was the worst he had remembered in his 77 years. Up until a month ago he was pretty upbeat. Unfortunately cancers like this are unfound and unusually stage 4 when discovered. I will miss the ouya ouya, the John Deere Green and the great stories at the conventions and the GMC Great Laker rallies. Did you get my email on the newsletter being ready? The website is up to date.

That is the worst part about being a senior member on this list. I actually feel like I know more and more of the people at the center of these inevitable progressions from reading their posts over time. It's easier to hear this stuff when you don't feel like you know them.

Many things come to mind upon reading this sad news.

Bingo won't be the same at GMCMI - his smile and sense of humor made
enduring the games more enjoyable.

The essence of his character was the most attractive thing about him. He was
always full of information and willing to share it. That will be missed.

He and Marlys always had a smile for everyone, something I looked forward to
at each convention.

That he is in Hospice care is a good thing because he and Marlys will be
treated well, respected and given comfort in Bob's last days. I consider the
Hospice organization one of God's good gifts.

Finally, I hate reading information like this about a true gentleman who had
yet to reach 85. It's a reminder to us all of our mortality and that life is
short.

Sorry to hear about Bob Drewes. He is a nice guy with a wealth of GMC knowledge that he willingly shared. He will be greatly missed. My connection with Bob is that we each own of the two remaining coaches redone by the late Elam Fayard. Bob had an impressive grasp of all things mechanical and electrical. Whoever buys his coach will be getting a suburb GMC that he continuously improved and refined. Farewell Bob.

Very sorry to hear about Bob's condition. I didn't really know him, but I was very impressed with his knowledge on the GMCMI "ask the experts" panels at the conventions I was able to attend.

I haven't been paying as much attention to the net as I like too. Dan's note of thanks struck me when he mentioned Bob Drewes.

I am very sad to hear of Bob's condition. He too is a gentleman. It's very sad news.
