Bring a unit in last night about 30 miles from home and I heard a pop then what I thought was an exhaust leak. The engine lost some power so I managed to get it to the next exit. When I stopped I left the engine running and opened up the hatch to see what was going on as I put my hand down near the #7 cylinder and felt a strong stream of air. The spark plug had popped out and was dangling, still connected to the plug wire. The threads on the plug were not stripped but the first 3/8' of threads of the plug hole were. I pulled the plug out and buttoned it back up and managed to limp it home the last 25 miles firing on 7 cylinders. Good thing Florida is flat. Anybody have any ideas for a fix that does not require the head coming off? Is there a plug that has a longer thread pattern that I can stick in there that will get me beyond the stripped area?
Thanx. David
