Richard, IIRC, the torque spec is the same as for an original cast steel manifold. I did mine in increments of 20 foot pounds to the torque in the manual. There are extensive instructions either on this site or on Gene's site. Do a search.

Correction: I just looked on Gene's site and found nothing about intake manifolds. Maybe I just was looking in the wrong place.

Also, I'm pretty sure what I said about 20 ft/lb increments is wrong. I probably did it in more like 5 or 10 lb increments. A quick search on the archives showed a posting by Steve Ferguson (too bad he got run off) that stated to torque the manifold to 30 lbs in a criss cross pattern, starting from the center. 30 seems light to me though. I don't think I put that info on my photo album when I installed mine:

This is the information for the 2151 Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Intake Manifold which is used by a fair number of GMCers including me on my Accel Gen 6 MPFI system. You should be able to use the same torque and fastening sequence.

I had the intake gaskets replaced because of a coolant leak by CMS/Fast Auto in Albuquerque on the way home from Tucson. They used a FelPro #1356 gasket set that better fit the ports. The original gasket had failed just like the instructions had stated.

Our experience with aluminum intakes is to use a thick washer and torque to over 50 ft.lbs.
All your doing is sandwiching the Aluminum.
On the other hand, the bolt hole for the A/c compressor bracket, go easy around 20 ft. lbs.
Start from the center and move out few times.
