Ok, CFO asks, all this talk about fan clutches, how's ours...knocked wood didn't help.

Viscous coupling works, speeds up with engine start, slows down right after start...sounded like chirping, perhaps something hitting a blade, irregular rhythm.
Shut it down, reach in and turn blade by hand, no interference but notice some wiggle at the clutch...I'll have a new 15-4644 in the morning.

Maintenance manual says, remove seal retainer, roll back seal toward shroud, remove fan, blah blah...my seal retainer looks like it won't come out in one piece, looks, crunchy, rust. Is this something I ca just replace with metal strapping or something.
