Hi Gary,
Someone recently posted an eBay listing for 10x 12v LED bulbs that were cheap but of far too blue a color to be of interest to most of our owners. I made this posting to remind everyone that color temperature (you want 2700 to 3000 degrees Kelvin color temperature for most indoor applications) and color rendering index (a number in the 90s will render colors correctly for most applications) are important characteristics for LED bulbs used in our coaches. The other major consideration is that they have a built in power supply to be able to withstand the wide voltage variations (10.5 to 15 volts dc) they will see when used in our GMCs.
Many people buy just on price and rated lumen output and are often disappointed at how gastly things/people look when the LEDs are too high a color temperature or how quickly they fail if they are simply 12vdc bulbs with no built in power supply. All too often folks will see a fixture meant for home use and see that the output of the wall wart is 12v so they think they can drive it straight off of the coach 12dc power. The problem is that the coach rarely ever sees 12vdc, it sees voltages that range all over the place depending on whether the batteries are fully charged or nearly depleted or whether they are being charged or not.
