When I first landed in LA in 1962 from NZ I couldn't walk around outside without my eyes stinging and watering. When I visit now the air is clearer and my eyes do not sting. Something has happened in the ensuring 40 years. Perhaps California legislators made some rules that helped, I thank them, or whatever made it happen.
Now scientists have suggested that the world weather is changing, some say its warming up, and some say its just changing. The Al Gore's of the world have been attempting to make political hay out of all this and blame those awful oil companies that want to dig up oil sands and pipe it down to Texas. Yet they all drive around in cars fly in planes (some of them private jets) and heat their buildings.
Meanwhile science marches on, and although the main source of energy will remain oil or gas for a long time yet, other sources are always being developed, Lithium Ion batteries being one of them. I intend to use the best system of storing electrical energy I can find.
