Progressive just sent me a notice for renewal with a premium of $890.00 for an agreed value policy of $16,000.00.

Has anyone found a better deal?

I paid $71 and change for this year's minimum liability in Alabama on the Sequoia. Up from $65 and change last year. If the Sequoia gets carried away by a tornado, or evaporates into the atmosphere, I will move the insurance and registration over to the CanyonLands.

Fred, I am good through sept with progressive. 38 or 40 for right at 800 my agent knows I am dropping progressive if they have gone up again. Agent tells me that in our area Progressive will no longer write agreed value, just keep us old ones grandfathered. May be time for liability and towing only.

Thanks, I'll probably have to drop the full coverage.

G'day,

You guys could do what I do if you don't use your GMC a lot during the summer.

As you know I usually only spend three to four months in the USA so insuring the coach for 12 months is not cost effective.

YES I know it could spontaneously combust, a hurricane could turn it into the Titanic, vandals could break into my storage facility
and smash it to bits, ne'er-do-wells could steal it; or aliens could transport it back to their home planet. I am willing to gamble
on those things not happening and so far so good! ;-)

When I arrive I call USAA to insure the VW towd (which is not registered) and have it insured for liability; which costs around
$250-300 for a year. I have to make the first payment from an account then after that I pay by credit card on a monthly basis.

While I'm on the phone with USAA I tell them I want to insure my GMC Motorhome with an agreed value policy. Up until last year they
would set it up. Now they pass me over to Progressive directly who set it up. I have to send them copies of and appraisal (got one
from JimB) and photos. IIRC I have to pay the first payment from an account then after that I pay by credit card on a monthly basis.
I just checked and for a Agreed Value Policy for $38,000 last year I was paying $125 a month.

The reason I have to pay $125 per month ($1500 per year) is because I haven't had a continuous policy for the past 5 years and I've
gotten a couple of speeding tickets on my Texas license. Progressive does insure Helen to drive it on her NSW Drivers License; I
don't use mine because my record is worse here! They have red light and speed cameras all over this city and if you're more than 5km
per hour over the speed limit you get your picture taken! ;-)

I call in and cancel both policies while I'm sitting in the airport lounge on my way back to Sydney.

Obviously if you're not a USAA member the terms of your insurance might not be the same, or when I get back this June they might not
be the same thru USAA either.

I'm paying National Intestate $722 for 30K agreed value. They needed (Jim K) evaluation and pix. Progressive (a USAA partner) valued my coach at $1400.00 so dumped them real quick a couple of years ago.

Glenn,

As I understand Progressive Insurance's policies:

1) They offer different policies in different states.

2) If you call Progressive directly and tell them you want an Agreed Value Policy on a GMC Motorhome they will tell you that they
won't issue an Agreed Value Policy on a GMC Motorhome.

3) If you call USAA and tell them you want an Agreed Value Policy on a GMC Motorhome they will pass you to Progressive and they will
issue you an Agreed Value Policy. You have to provide an appraisal and photos. I'll qualify that statement by noting that's what
they did last year when I called in. Who knows what they'll do this year!

4) If you have an Agreed Value Policy with Progressive they will renew the Agreed Value Policy.

BTW Progressive is selling insurance here in Australia now. We don't have Flo we've got Kitty:
