All,

I have the fuel tanks out (pic to follow soon) and I have removed all the hoses/fill tube,LP line, etc from the frame rails in prep for paint. Anyway, I want to replace the LP copper lines and also the flexible hoses. Any ideas what I could use for a the flexible hose replacement? I know I can get flex gas lines at the box stores but I imagine those are not suitable for outdoor application, especially under a motor home.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You could take your old hoses to a local hose shop and have them re-hosed with the proper type of hose. They can reuse the fittings at the ends. This would work best if you are replacing everything exactly as it came out.

Thanks Carl, that is a good option for sure. Since I'm going to replace the copper line I could possibly use a prefabricated line, something off the shelf, and adjust the length of the copper line to compensate. Question is what to use and where to find?

Thanks again!
Jon

Go to any RV store such as Camping World. They have propane hoses in various lengths already made up with the proper fittings.

I went to our local propane shop and had two hoses made while I waited. It took about 20 minutes and IIRC it was around $30.00 dollars. Very reasonable I thought.

This is interesting.

My coach has the propane flex hose coming into the cabin, going over the frame rail (inside the cabin!) and then dropping back under the floor. I thought it was odd - but didn't really think much of it, until I saw this pic.

Did one of the PO's do this? Or did Coachmen do the propane hose this way originally?!?

We are building a wood dinette directly adjacent to the hose - so it's well protected. But I may have to look at it more closely and perhaps move it...
